I currently have a Barnard P F-Tr switch barrel rifle 223 & 308 in a RCI HH stock. Rifle works great but the switch barrel idea grew old on me. Recently picked up a twin Barnard P rifle in 6mm br on the EE with the intent of converting it to a dedicated 223 rifle for short range... or if needed a second 308.

I installed the 223 barrel and bolt from the original rifle on the newly acquired rifle. Headspace is good, issue I am having is the trigger breaks when I fully close the bolt. If I put any of the 3 bolts in the original rifle trigger works fine. If I put both 308 bolts in the newly acquired rifle trigger works fine. Only having trigger issues with 223 bolt in newly acquired rifle.

Does anyone know if this is trigger adjustment issue or possibly a bolt compatibility issue. One rifle has a P09-### serial number other is P10-###. If this needs to be looked at by a gunsmith, who do you recommend that has good knowledge of Barnard actions / triggers.

Thanks in advance.

I would start on the Barnard site ... there is a page on their target trigger as supplied with the ‘P’ action. and also some cautions about using too light a setting and also adjustment instructions ..... as well as a link to them for trigger related assistance. Nice rifles!!!

Not all bolt/action/trigger group combinations are exactly equal. It appears you have one combination where the trigger needs a very slight adjustment.
