Hey, just bought some barnes xpb's 225 grain, wondering what you would load it with. I want a hot load for hunting with my 92, I have a few different powders, Clays, IMR 3031, H110 any ideas are appreciated, thanks. skokie.
Don't know what could be gained for a heavy load with that bullet but H-110 is the only good powder for the .44 that you have on hand. 2400 AA9 Blue Dot 4227 even the new MP300 are good for heavy loads in the .44 Mag.
The best heavy/hot loads in the 44 are achieved with 240gn + bullets and H110/Win 296. These still the best bpowders for 225 but you can get the same velocities with 240's and real close with 270's even.
