An old post I know, but here's my data to share.
Kimber Montana 84L 280ai
Barnes 145g lrx
IMR 7828ssc
61g-3038fps
62g-3099fps
63g-3140fps @ close to freezing.......but just shot on Friday at plus 31, and speed jumped to 3318, and stiff bolt lift. Obviously way to hot for warm weather. I would have never guessed a 170fps jump like that. Anyway 62, and 63 seemed to group decent. I also loaded 140g tsx, but only tested on the hot day. 62g clocked 3285, and went into an 1 1/4" on two 3 shot groups. 63 was also sticky that day at 3315, so too hot. These are still blistering velocities, and maybe the lower ones are too hot as well, no brass marks, at 62 and below, and the primers looked normal, so shows what trying to use them to read a load is worth. I will never hunt in that kind of heat, but will say for me that 62g is max.
