Barnes Bullets for varmints which is better

I've used a few thousand varmint grenades, in different configurations. They're not as spectacular as the VMAX and nosler ballistic tips. Or even the cheap SPSX, for that matter. Which is disappointing, given the premium price tag. They are a bit better than the speer TNT's, though.
Personally, I won't be bothering with them any more. The vmax are cheaper, more spectacular, and ballistically better for better trajectory and more terminal retained energy.

The BC rating is a lot better on the Vmax, just not sure if I should waste the money, I'm working on some loads and was thinking of barnes bullets, I still haven't tried the Nosler bullets yet, was thinking of getting a box of ballistic silver tips.
I have tried the 36 grain varmint grenades in a large number of rifles. Few will shoot them real well, but in general, faster twist is better, though I have one hornet with a 1:16 that shoots them just fine, like to be loaded hot as possible, and like a fair amount of jump.
Even started out at 4000 fps, terminal effect no where near as good as the V-Max or BlitzKing, both of which are cheaper and have shoot good to great in all guns tried. In a 50 grain bullet, the SPSX is absolutely the tops. Cheap, holds well under an inch at 200, spectacular explosive results on gophers, even started as slow as only 3000 fps, and has shot good to great in every .22 caliber gun I have ever tried them in.
The Noslers have shot very well in 17, 20 and 224 but no better than the cheaper Hornady's. Really depends on volume you shoot. On gophers I can go through 500 a day easy. Cost becomes a consideration. The 50 SPSX at $16 a box is a lot better than the $26 for the same number of Barnes and the Hornady 40 grain V-max Zombie can be had for $18.
Exactly the same, just green tips instead of red. It is Hornady's promo for us high volume shooters and a heck of a deal. I bought up all the ones I could find in 17, 20 and 224. Designed to compete with the bulk Nosler seconds sold in the US by Midsouth etc.
