Barnes Triple Shock load

Hi there, just bought some 140 grain Barnes Triple Shock bullets for my 270. Would IMR4350 be a suitable powder for this bullet? If so what amount of powder would be appropriate. What other powders would be good for this calibre/bullet combination? Thanks.

Art the book states any where from 49 to 53 grains at max load topping out at 3039 fps out of a 24 inch barrel. FS

Other powders you could look at include IMR or H 4831, or RL 19 or RL 22.

I would start with H4831, probably somewhere around 58-59 grains max.

You owe it to yourself to try 60.0 grains of RL22. I use a WinLR primer and Win brass and get 3168 fps, standard deviation of just 19fps, very accurate, no pressure signs.

That load is Alliant max, don't exceed.
