I have the latest Barnes manual and also access to the Copper Club, but not sure where to find actual TSX loading data. Is it safe to use the X data?

I've had fine luck using standard jacketed bullet loads, starting low and working up slowly and carefully of course. The TSX handles pressure MUCH better than the old X.

The new data max loads are WAY lower than the prev manual for regular x bullets, the little note they put in the box about being able to exceed the old data is crazy. The best example so far is when I chronied my 300 win the other day, 83 grs of H1000 and the 168 gr tsx, max inthe old book is 84 for 3147 my average of 9 shots was over 3300. In my experience, with 5-6 calibres is TSX bullets develop max velocity with less powder. Start low and work up with your chrony as yoru guide.

This note:
Grooves cut into the TSX shank significantly reduce pressures, allowing safe higher velocities. Triple-Shock bullets virtually eliminate copper fouling, deliver outstanding accuracy and performance.

What kinda speeds are you getting with the UM?

The rifle has a 20" barrel, but I'm getting 2850 with 270's, 2600 with 300's and 2300 with 380's. I still have a few 260 gr Ballistic Tips, but I down load these to 2600 to make them less explosive.

I've also had some very good luck with the 270 gr Hornady loaded with Unique as a small game load, and these clock at 1200.

444shooter, I wasn't kidding when I post 111 grs 7828 as max with the 300 TSX for the 378. I went higher but started to see some pressure at 113 grs. I backed off and called the 111 gr load max. It was over 3000 fps in my gun.

Boomer, that rifle must produce a nice muzzle flash. Would love to see a video :D

Yeah, that will be a real bard burner. Was that in a Mk V or custom rifle?

270's are far too light for a bucket of that size Mike ;) :D
I think a short barreled shotgun with buckshot would be far better for defence against a charging bucket.

Cool video, by the way. I'd like to try that.

In thicker brush, a short barreled shotgun might work out better, but it looks to be fairly open so the .270 will probably be fine.;)
I've recently picked up the Barnes #3 reloading manual as I've been thinking of trying out some of their bullets, in a couple of calibre's.
