Barnes varmint grenades .204 Ruger

V G's

When they first came out the Barnes people suggested using data for 32gr loads, so that is what I did. i was using Varget at the time so that is what i used with the barnes. I started at 26.5gr and went to 28gr. my best group came from the 26.5 load in my Varmint HS Precision rifle. FS

Thanks fasss I will try that. I have 500 rounds. It will be a fun summer lol.

Mackillan, Have you ever tried Vmax bullets? OMG!! Fun and frivolity galore. Fassteel told me the the grenade HP don't have the results that a Vmax has. I have recipe for .32gr Vmax bullets that slows the velocity to get extra barrel life. But of course, you have to have a zest for body parts, guts and gore

I think that the Barnes bullet is all marketing hype, there are some way better bullets for explosive action in 204 or 224. FS

I have used both the V-MAX and the VG and the jury is still out on which I like best. When I first switched to the V-Max the results were spectacular!! With results like above. Then I decided I would try the VG. The results were just as spectacular! I do not have any pictures, but they get opened up like above. So use what ever you can get your hands on, you won't be disappointed. By the way I was using a .223.
