Barnes X bullets .270 win.

So has anyone actually worked up an accurate load with a 150 grn tsx yet ? I've tried with RL22 , H1000 , IMR4350 so far Best group's were around 3'' . Really didn't stabalize well at lower velocities .

Well I've been working my way up, useing IMR 4350 from 50 grns I'm now at 55 grn made it to 56 but I backed off .

NOTE MAXIMUM LOAD IS LISTED AS 53 grn's DO NOT TRY THIS IN YOU"R RIFLE .

This is the best group I've gotten from the 150 tsx

"...I would like to use IMR4831 because I have lots of it..." There's 130 grain IMR4831 Barne's data on Hodgdonn's site. Contact Barnes or buy one of their manuals for a 150. Barnes bullets require Barnes data. Solid copper bullets fly differently than lead cored bullets.
62 grains of anything is over max for a 150.

Bat - I've shot 54.5 grains of 4831 behind 150 bullets for 40 years in at least a half dozen 270's. You are going to be safe at 54 grs but will likely see presssure signs at 56 or 57 grains.
