What are your experiences with the older Barnes X bullets?
...the all copper ones from the late 80's era.

I'll be using them in my .338WM.

What are your experiences with them?
Any info would be appreciated.

If they shoot in your gun they work great on game.

I think the TSX is quite an improvement though. They have been accurate in every gun I've ever loaded them for.

I used them for years prior to the TSX and the TTSX.
they allways gave me good results .damn good penitration .I tend to reload lighter for caliber.I reload 130gr. in 308win ,30-06,and 300win mag.for hunting . most people like 150gr to 180 gr. for hunting.
My dad likes them in his 250-3000 savage .

I prefer them to the TSX....Not quite as accurate, but easier on meat and penetrated deeper.

I never found a rifle that I couldn't get reasonable accuracy from.

They're darn good bullets but they foul barrels quicker than any other bullets I've ever used. I quit using them for this reason. As far as terminal performance, I would rate them in the top 10%
