Barney, I need help! Front sight issues

No, In the video that Mike posted, he showed how he filed the bottom of the REAR sight so it would recess further into the sight block.

No, you guys learned me real good already.
 
Well after taking my sight apart like in the video that computermike posted, I am happy to say that I am only 2 inches high at 25m. It worked to some degree, so I will take it apart again anf file the end so I can drop it some more anf put an end to all this.

I'll go through all the effort to get it sorted out, and I'll probalby end up scoping it anyways.... Well its still a blast to shoot!
 
Wow, three days and I have finally surfaced..... sorry I have not been around to help you out. The great news is that we have a whack of great advice here, saves me a pile of typing. I'm still on the road now; Road Trip Week # 6 and at the family's cottage (Northern Ontarians call it a camp) that does not have a cell phone signal, so I was able to borrow the neighbor's wireless signal for / with my laptop.

Yup, 45ACPKING has the best advice, and I might just do that... the SAI Bush Gun 18" barrel front sight might be in order....

Thanks for getting back to me Barney!

Based on Computermikes post and advice from Cal9mm, I dropped her down 8 inches. I've got a BM sight in the mail thanks to Moose2hunt, and the guys here made sure my di&k didnt fall off - or at least stopped me from taking a file to my d*ck.

at any rate, pretty much EVERYONE here at CGN kept me on the straight and narrow, from in-person advice from Cal, everyone in this thread politely telling me I was an idiot for trying to file down my FRONT sight, to offering me what I need by PM - Moose, to finally your reply as the king of M14, my heartfelt thanks goes out to this community as a whole. CGN rocks!

Next step, CCW for all!!!!!
