I found some 720gr cast bullets that I as going to load in my Lott but I couldn't find any load data. Haaaa... I can't wait for the day

I cast 500 gr bullets for my 45/70, with a oldish lee mold, I use gas checks and get about 1860 fps out of them in my Siamese Mauser, it kicks hard enough.

I've got the same mould. I used to shoot those out of a carbine length 45-70 trapdoor. Not an extremely pleasant thing, even with BP loads. That steel buttplate doesn't absorb recoil like they say it should.

Rumaged through my big bullets last night but the 600 gn Barnes are gone, sorry. Must have given them to someone already, don't recall it but you know what they say about old age and memory.

My 45/70 weighs about 8 lbs, and has a 22 inch barrel. It has a pachmar pad, I cant imagine shooting it with a steel butt pad. I am sure a full power load in a bigger rifle with 600 gr or bigger bullets would rattle my dental work.

thanks for looking, barns e-mailed me back, they no longer make the 600 gr. bullets. thanks all for your replys. will have to stick with the hornadys 500 grainers.

If you go to gun shows they can found once in a while on a table, thats where I always look for them .
My stash is down to just a few.
They are an awesome bullet, all it took was one of those to fill my one and only Grizzly tag in 1993.

Another bullet to consider is the 550 gr. RN from Hawk bullets, they ship to Canada.
I have used their 350 & 400 gr. bullets in my 404 for several years and they shoot very well.

What about the 550 grain Woodleighs from Tradex?

Or a custom mould from Mountain Moulds. I just ordered a 550 grain BRRNFPGC from them that was designed by a fellow who had completed an in-depth study on the .458 Winchester chamber, presuming, of course, that you are going to use it in a .458 Winchester Magnum. I am not familiar with the .458 Lott or .460 Weatherby chambers.
