Barrel breech plug

Good Evening,
I just bought a used Plainsman Spain barrel 50 cal. with no plug and I wondering what might be the size of breech plug/drum, to figure out if was modified or not.If somebody can clarify this thank you in advance.Have a nice week-end.

A photo would really help as you have asked about the breech plug and drum (two questions). If they are one piece then you have a hooked breech system. If not then plug and drum are separate pieces. What is the width across the barrel flats? Is there a threaded section at the breech end of the barrel or has that been removed? Many of the current European-made BP guns have unique breech systems.
 
Here is a manual for CVA muzzleloaders: http://www.cva.com/pdf/Side.pdf Call the 800 number in the manual and talk with their technical department. They will be able to walk you through verifying if your muzzleloader has been modified or not, and can confirm all the details you will need. Hope this helps. Without pictures, we can't give anymore advice.
