I recently purchased a gun that has a threaded barrel and has a neat little cap on it.

today i was cruising around on the internet and saw the same gun with a Compensator on it and thought to myself..... ya, that's what i need!

so after a hour of hitting every Canadian site i know and all the American ones i could find i am sitting here frustrated.
are we not allowed to have barrel compensator up here in Canada?

(ruger 22/45 Lite is the gun in question)

That's a compensator from Tactical Solutions LLC in the bottom picture. It's a Pac-Lite compensator that should fit the 22/45 Lite.

Wanstalls can get Tac Sol products so your best bet is to email Gary at Wanstalls and see if he can get one in for you.

Tac Sol website:

And yes, comps are legal in Canada

If one of the dealers can't hep, you can buy those off evilbay, I have two in silver in one of my spare parts boxes somewhere I got off there.

Just for kicks I put an AR 15 Flash hider on my P22 once. :D

Looked kind of weird with that 5" barrel though. FYI any AR15 FH, compensator or muzzle brake with 1/2 x 28 threads should work. Depends on if the muzzle device is timed I expect.

I just got a 22/45 as well (not lite) and contacted Wanstalls. They are getting some in "in early spring".

What is cap diameter and thread? How long do you want it?

I suggest the OP measure the barrel with a caliber. Mine is .875 with 1/2 x 28 threads. The Tac-Sol models are .90 and 1". Hey if you can make me one send me a PM with the details.

I gather that is not evilbay.ca. I did a search there and nothing came up. If you found someone who will mail it to Canada I'm happy for you, most won't.

Finally Milarm can get the Volquartsen 32 hole model but they told me it may take 6 months or more. This makes minniehill2s post even more inviting! TC

when i called and talked to the chap from Wanstalls he said the Toc Sol ones would fit perfect.
infact he suggested the 10/22 one instead of the Pac one as the Pac one is smaller external and looks a little off on the pistol.

it should be here in 3 days and ill take a pic and post what i find.

Joe at Dlssk arms can tell you what one fits. He should have a few in stock since he makes them.

If you want to go really crazy on the muzzle break you can have it custom made to what you want ie if you have an idea for a design he should be able to do it.

got one from Wanstalls!
put on some Hogue grips too to make it feel just right! (DS Tactical)

overall im VERY happy with it and im loving the new look for it.
not sure, but i might switch out the tan grips for the black..... i thought the tan might offset the barrel a little more but.... meh?

sorry for the crappy pic, iphone, didnt have time to dig out the camera!

This looks great.. congrats on successful build. One thing though, i'd put a Burris FF red dot, or any other of similar size.

im not sold on the red dot yet.
that is a Browning Buckmark red dot that i picked up when i purchased my Browning Buckmark .22, and i ran 2 mag's through the buckmark and pulled the red dot off and stuck with the awesome factory fiber optics and chucked the red dot into my box of parts.

i just chucked it on here to try it out on the Ruger since the Ruger just had factory irons that are pretty cruddy.

i think once i get out to the range and try this out if i find i like the red dot that i will invest the money into a decent one that sits wayyyyyyyyyy lower.

Probably that Burris one, seems to get a lot of referrals.

Well here you go, bull barrel though.

Comp is a Tac-sol from Wanstalls. It measures .900 and my barrel is .875, still looks good to me. The only one that fits exact is the Volquartsen when you can find one. TC

That's funny that yours is a touch to big, if you look close you can see that mine is just a touch smaller then my barrel.

I'm not about to waste weeks trying to find a perfect fit one and then try to get it shipped up here to Canada.

But I did order the black grips and I will pick up and try a lower red dot.
