Barrel deresonators

Just saw a pic with a Stevens with one of those simms barrel thingamijiggers.
Do they work ? Will they improve the accuracy of lets say a sporter weight barrel as opposed to a bull barrel ? Or is it just a gimmick?

I've never tried one on a centerfire rifle, but they do work on rimfires. Help to dampen barrel vibration, I guess. - dan

if you reload, I think it might be useless, if you're trying to tune a factory load, then i'm sure there's some improvement to be made playing with it on your barrel, but it'll cost you some ammo...personnaly, I prefer reloading...
