Barrel finish

when it comes to finish its personal preferance...

personally i dont care if my barrel is blued, stainless , or black. as long as it shoots. a cericote (sp? ) barrel wont shoot better then a stainless

I have my SS barrels bead blasted to reduce reflection. I have a couple that are not bead blasted so I use a strip of black hockey tape along the top of the barrel.

I think for performance wise whatever finish helps exchange heat the best, so I would guess fluted bare steel bead blasted for the most surface area. Mine however is more like a polished finish with the fluting powder coated black, so Im not 100% about performance I suppose.

I bee blasted mine then dip it in Phosphor tank if Moly steel, 1/2 hour turn Dark grey-black color, very nice finish.
if stainless just bee blasted will give a more dull stainless color, very nice also.

"...leave your barrel stainless..." It'll always be SS. Bead blasting will cut the glare though.
"...Bee blasting..." Done with honey. snicker.
