I bought my beretta a303 when I was about 12 yrs from a friend of my grandfathers. I absolutely love the gun and use it quite a bit for upland and the occasional migratory. I believe it was manufactured in 1986 according the beretta coding.

Currently it has a barrel marked for 3" shells and it doesn't like 2 3/4" target loads at all. I have done a lot of research and am under the impression that this is due to the gas ports in the barrel not being large enough for cycling the action. I have 2 questions:

1. Is this correct? Or does it have to do with the recoil spring?
2. Does anyone know where I can buy another barrel for this gun?

I am not interested in drilling out the ports as I would like to keep the 3" shell capability for migratory. Also, i believe a browning B-80 is the same barrel, correct? I am only looking for a target load barrel so it doesn't break the bank if I want to shoot skeet.

Thanks Everyone!!

Any barrel from the A300 series will fit your gun ( 300,301 302 &303) If you can find another 3" barrel you can get the gas ports reamed. Keep an eye on the EE or post an ad there and maybe you can find a parts gun cheap enough. I don't believe the barrels are made any more but you could contact Stoeger Canada on the tiny chance they have some NOS barrels.

Thanks Hunter, its proving to be harder than I thought to come across one. I will def keep my eye out on the EE.

I have a Beretta 302 with the 3 inch barrel. Mine cycles everything. Mine has been a great shotgun. I got lucky with mine.

For your shotgun, I'd second Western Gun Parts in Edmonton. They might have a skeet barrel or a 2 3/4 field barrel with chokes. Their service is great.

Well i managed to get a hold of Western Gun Parts in Edmonton and they sent me a new Browning B80 barrel that works like a charm! Had it out for the long weekend and shot off about 500 rds with no issues whatsoever. Only $200!! Thanks for the info guys, much appreciated!!!
