Barrel for Lee Enfield No4 Mark2

Wouldn't hurt to run a WTB ad in the EE. I've seen barrels pass through there.

Number 4 Mark 2 was the LAST Lee-Enfield to be produced.

What is wrong with the barrel you have?

There are MANY possibilities......

and Mk 1 will fit Mk2. Same thing

Might get lucky and find a take off at a gun show. Got a Mk lll that way. Imagine Numrich and Sarco have them but probably difficult to export.

There is a match barrel available (new) - forget who, if you're stuck I'll dig around for you.

The Gun was re-finished at one point and is actually quite a nice looking piece. I scoped the bore and there is substantial wear in the throat so I would like to replace. The serial numbers are not matching so I assume this was put together and refinished for show at some point but would not be a good shooter in its present form.

I have read somewhere that Krieger made a replacement barrel at some point but cannot find anything listed on their website.

I will post on EE to see if something comes up.

Have you tried using a FLAT-BASED bullet in the thing? Enfield rifling VERY much prefers a flat bse.

Try a 180 Sierra Pro-Hunter flatbase. Run it about 2300 ft/sec.

MANY times, a bore with throat erosion will shoot very well with a .314 gas-check CAST bullet costing 4 cents to make.
