Barrel length and contour for F/TR

You'll see everything being run out there - the three largest weight items on your rifle are barrel, bipod and scope. Generally 1 of the 3 has to make a concession to get the aggregate under 8.25 kg. It's your choice on how to do it - I run a Rempel and a NF NSX, which gets me to a 26.5" Rock Creek HV barrel.

Remember you have to make weight of 8.25kg for F-TR. Unless you have a very light non adjustable stock the heaviest contour to be safe is a hvy Palma. Bummer when you have to shorten your barrel to make weight! This class was intended to take a TR rifle , add a scope and ready to shoot, hence the limit. If you ignore this you might get a shock when you go to a match and they weigh. It does not need to be a bull barrel to shoot well.

I do not know very much but would think you MAY wish to gather your other components first and have them weighed to the 1/10th of an ounce and then chose your barrel contour and length Jefferson

Sure Jeff, you don't know much at all!! Good advice. We constantly had customers buy everything except the stock and expect us to fill a stock with helium to make weight.
