The lower for semi auto centrefire non-restricted status is 18.5+".

So the M1A Scout Squad with 18" barrel is a huge .5" slap in the face....

Yeah...but criterion makes a factory 18.5 incher. Do your import/export paperwork and you too can have an 18.5 inch barrel....or just import the complete thing from LRB.

The Springfield Armoury M1A Squad Scout is definately a restricted firearm.
As an owner, I find this to be very irritating.
