Read that the optimal length for .22 bullet velocity is about 14" where after drag overtakes powder expansion. Legal requirements push that out to 16".
Then there are other factors, is the barrel long enough for the bullet to drop to subsonic and increase accuracy and barrel length versus spin / stabilization. Can negate sight distance if use scope.
Hence am curious as to what the barrel length is on your more accurate .22.
Cheers.
Why yes, I do have a stupid reason for asking - will my 75 Cooey shoot as well with the shorter 750 barrel (and yes, I will just take it to the range and try it (rifling quality also different) but was intrigued nonetheless about barrel length).
Maybe I should have reworded this post, what is the right barrel length for a 1,000 meter shoot with .22 (and still drop a moose first shot no matter where the POI).
