i have a remington 870 tactical with the "breaching choke" it is 18 1/2 inches long, i was thinking of getting in to turkey hunting and don't really have the cash to buy another shotgun, would it be totally ridiculous to add a turkey choke and use it? thanks for the feed back.

totally ridiculous? nope. Many people actually prefer very short barrels for that sort of hunting. Turkeys are normally shot in the "pre-flight condition" so if you can aim your short barrel accurately you have a turkey killer in your hands.
Put in a turkey choke as mentioned (I don't hunt turkey, so I am curious as to what restriction that actually is), pattern the gun with the correct shot for the game, and you should be good to go. - dan

Full will do it, but most guys like extra full. Basically as tight as you an get it
