Maybe its been covered in the past but couldn't find any info. How many rounds can you expect from the factory barrel on a CZ75B, taking into account a well maintained gun cleaned after every range visit? I expect I will be putting 6000-10000 rounds through it per year. Will the barrel be good for at least one year? More? Just want to be prepared in advance of when I should be buying a replacement barrel, other wear parts?

The chances are the barrel will outlast the side or even the frame! ;) As long as you're not going to be shooting overloaded ammo and blow it up a barrel will last a LONG time. Let's say 100K+ rounds...the accuracy may decrease as you wear the riflings out but it will still work.

By the time you wear out the barrel (or the rest of the gun), you will have spent far more on ammunition than the purchase price of the gun. Barrel life on any modern, quality pistol is a non-issue in my opinion.

On my 38 super which I sold awhile ago,I had put through 40K and the barrel still looked and shot fine, and the super is a much hotter round than the para.

Suffice to say,if you can afford the ammo to shoot out a barrel, you shouldnt have any problems being able to afford a new barrel(or gun!)

A good quality barrel will last about 25,000 rounds (the barrel will remain functional much longer than that, but there will be a significant degradation in accuracy). So I'd have to disagree with I'm Lugger's claim that it would outlast the slide and the frame...unless, of course, we are talking about a Beretta ;)

you mean Taurus not Beretta :p:p

If you're shooting lead - forever. If you're shooting jacketed - pretty much forever. Guys like Larry Vickers and Jerry Barnhart wear out barrels, even then barrels are cheap and widely available.

(To give you an idea of how much ammo those guys shoot, Jerry Barnhart shoots a five gallon bucket of ammo in one day, one of his guns has in excess of half a million rounds through it)

Horsefeathers!

My old CZ85 had three times that amount on it, and mostly jacketed, and the rifling was as sharp as the day it was made. The ony accuracy degradation I noticed was my eyes were getting older.

I shoot IPSC with sp01 shadow and 85 combat. Many guys at our club have shot CZ's for years in IPSC. We order bullets 10,000 at a time. One of the long time CZ shooters says barrels last 60 to 80 thousand rounds with no issues. You may have extractor problem long before barrel but that to is easily fixed. I guess what I am saying is those CZ's are bullet proof round after round. I shot at least 10,000 rounds last year including 4 IPSC matches and did not have a single jamb or fail to feed. Guns n things in alberta stocks parts for CZ's
