Does a barrel mounted rail system hold zero better than gas tube cover rail such as the NEA? Just from placing a red dot scope against my CZ858 it looks like it would co-witness very well with a barrel mount but I was not sure about two things. Would bolting on a barrel mount affect the expansion of the barrel when it gets warm during firing? Will the weight from the mount and a red dot scope effect the accuracy? (I would not think it would affect the accuracy but some of you may have tried this)

I guess in general is their a disadvantage to a barrel mount rail?

G37 made one like this it seemed to work quite well. Rapid fire could create some heat transfer that could effect the optic but its unlikely people in Canada would experience this.

It works inline with our upper and guard and railed stock adapter. Its contoured so it will spoon the gas block and snug up against the upper hand guard making it easy to align.

We designed this item to be used as the forward mounting point for the front back up iron in conjunction with our railed stock adapter which is where the rear back up iron would be mounted leaving the whole NEA upper hand guard available for a full size red dot.

Now that adds an option. Is it availiable and for how much? with the gas tube cover, the rear site raised and a new front site mounted on that a person would have the iron sites if ever the red dot was to fail.
