I came across these today and was curious what others thought of the idea.

To my knowledge other than the H2 Aimpoint, which was designed to be bolted to a vent rib barrel. I haven't seen anything like this up here in Canada.

I like the idea of it, forward placement, zeroing stays with the barrel in similar fashion to the cantilever barrels.

Thoughts?

You won’t see it up here unless someone who offers the full vang comp treatment does them, it’s their creation as far as I can tell. Vang comp has been posting pics of this set up on their IG page for a bit, it’s pretty slick.

No it's just a bolt on solution from what I can tell.

I never bothered with it, until now I've run the RDS on a receiver mounted rail

Spoke to Peter at Tactical Ordnance who advises they are not a bolt on solution but silver soldered and barrel would require refinishing, they can be supplied if enough interest exists for the product.

I put red dots on all but one of my shotguns... Drives the guys at the skeet range nuts. Even more nuts when I shoot better than most. They don't think red dots work for skeet LOL.

Trick is to learn the Bindon method. https://www.trijicon.com/our-story/bindon-aiming-concept

I like red dots with caps so I can leave the front cap on. I don't want to see through the optic when using both eyes for big leads. Just want to see the dot with my right eye.

I spoke to Vang Comp today and we will be getting them in when they are available. They will only be available installed on a barrel as they require silver soldering on. The barrel will need to be refinished.
