So I finally picked up a JR Carbine that I've been looking for and swapped the butt and plate, switched the charging handle to the left and removed the quadrail. I have a 15" Hera IRS rail I picked up a couple years ago for my AR then went a different way. It was my understanding that the JR was milspec and the nut should thread right on. It won't go beyond one turn. I've thoroughly checked the threads and greased but no luck.

Any suggestions or should I just look for a new rail as this one is discontinued and I would not be able to get any replacement.

Does the JR barrel but thread on all the way?
Does the Hera handguard have a proprietary barrel but?
I have no experience with a JR or the handguard in question.

I would start with a thread pitch gauge and make sure that you know what you're dealing with. This is step one.

JR Carbine uses a Mil-spec barrel nut threads, had no problem with two different rails that I put on with each having it's own proprietary barrel nut

*SOLVED* The coating was a lil thick on the nut 5 sec with an SOS pad and and she spun on perfect.
