With the recent posts with questions on the Winchester 101, I thought I would ask yet another. Can a Winchester 101 from the early 70's use a set of barrels from say early 1980s-1987 Winchester 101? Specifically barrels with removable chokes so that steel shot can be used? I know it can be sent to Briley or whomever to have chokes installed, just thought I would ask and see what the price difference would be between the two options. So any idea what replacement barrels would cost new or used and has anyone seen any for sale??

thanks

Most shotguns from those years have hand fitted barrels. Other than Beretta, most are very difficult to fit, some may not even be able to be fitted. Barrels are also very hard to come by for them ... you just never see them for sale. IMHO, your best option is to buy another gun or, as you have mentioned, send it to Briley for tubes.
