Hello - I'm looking to install a muzzle break on an HK MR308 20" barrel and HK USA is telling me that the American equivalent rifle (HK762) has a 15X1 RH thread. Now I'm trying to figure out if a 5/8X24 RH break will screw on 15x1 RH thread? It is essentially the same dimensions although one is metric and the other standard.

Can anyone help me out?

Thanks.

5/8" = .625" 24 tpi = .042" thread edge to thread edge
15mm = .591" 1mm = .394" thread edge to thread edge

The thread diameter of the brake will be 30 thou too large, the threads will bind slightly. It may work in a fashion. Not my choice of a fit.

Thanks guntech - very precise answer. I appreciate it thank you. I will find this part from hkparts.net (US only sales) - will look into laws for importing this.

Thanks again.

Of course it will fit.

With a big ugly pipe wrench and a torch to ease things along!

If there is a thread there, buy parts that fit. Or get a brake made to fit.

Cheers
Trev
