Barrel threading on Norinco CQ-A

Hi,

I have a quick question for the members out there. What is the threading on the barrel of a Norinco CQ-A? I assumed it was 1/2x28, but I purchased a NEA muzzle break that was supposed to be 1/2x28 and I could not get it on. I tried 2 other NEA's and could not get them on either. I try one DLASK and it seemed to go on ok, but I wasn't sure what the threading was on that one. One guy in a store where I live said it might be metric since it's from China.

If anyone has replaced the flash hider on their CQ-A what kind did you use? Are there any recommendations for a good muzzle break with a 14.5 barrel.

1/2x28 is the thread size, I replaced mine no problem

Hey Thres, did you get the NEA brake on the Norc?

I have the same problem, bought a Neit (AKA NEA) Crusader brake a few years ago and got around to putting it on tonight. It felt like it was going to cross thread so I did not push it.

If the Norc is the standard 1/2" x 28 then maybe its just a bit tight due to the parkerizing on the barrel threads or something?

I have a Neit Crusader currently installed on my Nork CQ-A. Went on just fine. Rifle also accepted a DPMS A2 flash hider and a Dlask no problem.

I installed a PWS Triad brake to my 10.5" CQ-A no problem.

I ended up using an ATRS AT15 brake and it fit perfectly.

I plan on putting a BattleComp 1.0 on my Norc 10.5 when it finally clears the CFO.

It better fit.
