Hey everyone. Just picked up a new 10/22, took it apart and cleaned and lubed. But I had trouble removing the barrel. Had to hold it while someone used a deadblow and a block of wood I figure first time apart may be difficult to remove, thats cool. But now trying to reinstall I see marks where the barrel is marking the recevier. So my question is how easy should the barrel pull out of the recevier and if any one else had this problem and what was your fix i've taken down the burrs a bit but don't want to go to far. Thanks I have to get back to work

You shouldn't be removing the barrel unless you are swapping out a new one as already stated. It should not be easy to remove the barrel, you want it nice and tight. If you are having difficulty reinstalling it, try polishing it, or put the barrel crown down on some thick padding and hit the back of the recieiver with a mallet to drive it home, obviously before reinstalling the bolt. Make sure you install it so the extractor lines up correctly with the barrel.

Be really careful about using force on the receiver - its a diecasting.
Check the barrel shank for burrs, polish them off if there are. Might make reassembly easier.

Ya just took a little bit of time, there was no way the barrel should have gone on that hard. Even though its a press fit. Found a burr or two and cleaned them up just enough to make installation a little bit easier.
