Looking to buy a citori xt and wondering what length to buy 30 or 32 ? I am 5 foot 6 inches tall if that has any thing to do with it.

Generally, but not absolutely, the longer the better. Even most of the skeet guys are using 30" barrels now. Some sporting guys shoot 34". Shorter barrels are easier and usually cheaper to find. I'm a little shorter and probably wider than you are and I shoot a 32" O/U. So, it boils down to what works best for you. Try them both and see if you notice a difference.

Pick the one that feels best to you. Barrel length is less important than barrel weight and balance. As the trend to longer barrels expanded in clay target shooting makers started making lighter barrels. A 32" Beretta 682E with Optima bore is a very different handling gun than an earlier 682 with Mobile chokes.

I like 32" barrels on sporting guns IF they are not too muzzle heavy but I'd rather have 30" barrels that handled well as opposed to longer barrels that did not.

My Beretta 686 Sporting has 30 " barrels so is my Benelli Supersport, but benelli is about 4 inches longer when you stand them side by side. To tell you the truth, i cant tell any difference in length when i shoot them. Like Claybuster sad, its all about the balance.

I actually have a 28 barrel and never had an issue, I just cant afford to buy different guns/barrels for hunting and trap,so if your not super serious competitive I don't think you have to worry too much. You can still have fun and enjoy trap with any gun. I was at a sporting clay tourney this weekend and one guy forgot his good equipment and ended up shooting with a pump with his slug barrel (22 or 24) and he actually won...
