Barrett 50 cal.

Candians use the McMillan Tac50 and Furlong used this in his famous feet. Expert users consider this more accurate than the Barret.

Hey Alberta Tac, ask Ronnie Berrett about it would ya and follow up please. I read it in a magazine article (Tactical Weapons-Combat Rifles-Volume #4 Number 72-Gun Buyers Annual) It stated in the and I quote: "A collection of "did you knows" about Barrett's Hall-of Fame-bound FIFTIES"! end quote.

In this list of Barrett's bragging rights right or wrong it stated and I quote:

" HORNADY A-MAX: In March 2002, Canadian Sniper Cpl. Rob Furlong of the PPCLI(Princess Patricia's Canadian Light Infantry) fired a 750 grain A-MAX .50 cal bullet across 2.657 yards to make the longest recorded kill by a sniper in combat" end quote.

Now it dosen't actually say he was shooting the Barret .50 but again in the title above of the "did you knows" it is making the impression that it was done using Barrett's .50!!??
Thanks for the info on the .50's though Alberta Tac, I am a future customer of a .50 and can't wait for the day it's in my hands and I can go shooting!

I have out shot my brother in law (ret ppci) @ 2.657 yards in the wood shop with an air gun, I have 2 confirmed mice kills. 2657 yards is a whole other ball game. thanks for the news update about our awesome canadian forces though.

And I think he might have used a McMilan Tac50 ???????????

Thank you for the reference, I will bring it to Ronnies attention, I expect he will set the record straight, he is an honest and honorable man.

Well someone should call Barrett Firearms and tell them, cause they are using it in their accomplishments list of what the Barrett .50 has done throughout it's history! It's on there list as holding the longest confirmed kill with their gun!!

Hummmmm, where do you get your information on classing the .Barrett .50 as being not so accurate??!! If memory serves me correct a CANADIAN SNIPER made a confirmed KILL at over 2600yrds!!!! Now if you don't call that accurate I don't know what is. For a rifle that can easily shoot targets better then a 1000yrds i hardly call that a "not so accurate rifle"!!! Just my opinion!

I pray that the day comes, where my posts are important enough, to always be bolded, the whole post. This forum, is hardly able to display the awesome, of your posts. I actually am sometimes, like now for instance, required to make mine small, as they are really, that unimportant :(

I make my posts in BOLD so it's easier to read, now if I was doing them in CAPSLOCK!!, then maybe you could whine about it.:bsFlag:

Internet Explorer has

EDIT: that seems to work on only some text in this thread. e.g. curtmg's text, but not ChubbsMcGee's text. But the Zoom feature works on everything just fine.

If you are looking for a just-cuz, 50, a few years ago Marstar was selling a non-restricted, semi auto M2HB. :D So there are a few in Canada if you can find someone willing to sell theirs.

Certain of us will be at the CISC which is where where I met the Canadian sniper who made the longest shot with our issued McMillan Tac50. American snipers have stated they are jealous of our superior kit.
