PGW is now building 50 cal rifles. I have only seen them in assembly. Not sure if they are open to sale to the general public or not....Ross? Steve?

anyway, I can guarantee that no retailer in Canada is going to be able to obtain a 50 cal anything that is made in the US - at least, not for use by anyone except a government agency.

What would restrict Wolverine from selling anyone a Barrett in Canada? They are non-restricted and there are no laws against selling them. The laws are in the US from exporting them.

What Obtunded said. Because the US requires an export permit for the rifle, an import permit is required, from Canada, first. So, legally, they can't be exported from the US in the first place. I would also suggest, that because our goverment knows this, the poo would hit the fan upon registration, if it somehow got here on the sly.

R.

US will not issue expert permit for anything in military caliber 50 cal doesn't have a sporting round equiv., Wolverine can only get permits for Barrett 98 in .338 Lapua.

So that settles it, Wolverine could sell you a Barrett in 50BMG IF they were allowed to import it. Since they can't well, we get to play video games and run around with a 30lb rifle like its a toy and take off the shoulder head shots at virtual insurgents instead. :p

i know this is dumb to say because i could never afford the gun, or the rounds to feed it, but I SOOOOOOOOOOOO WANNNNNNNNNNNNNT!!!!!:ar15:

Really? You're serious? To each his own I guess. I like tacticool as much as the next guy but that doesn't turn my crank, and neither does the detatched retina or the internal bleeding caused by bruises on my shoulder.;)

And what does one shoot to cause these conditions ?
I have more than a dozen rifles that have harder, sharper recoil than my 50.
Mine is not a Barrett so I can't speak for them, but its an ATRS 50 and its a dream to shoot, recoil similar to a 243...
As far as detached retinas and severe bruising are concerned, my 458 Win. Mag. would easily do both...

The only Barrett product that can be exported out of the US is the new Barrett 98 Bravo in 338 Lapua.

You can still buy a 50 bmg in Canada, it just can't be from the US.

I guess I am just a recoil wuss, although I do like my 7mm Rem Mag, when I brake it.:p That and ATRS is pretty awesome at making brakes and seem to have been doing it long enough, I don't know many companies thatan make a 50 like a 243.
