Hi,

I did not find much information, feedbacks or reviews on Barska's scopes (either spotting scopes, rifle scopes, or optics in general):

http://www.shopbarska.com/

They have some pretty interesting prices, but I am not sure whether they would ship to Canada (ITAR ...). Does anyone has some feedback about them ?

Thanks in advance.

My buddy has the tactical 6-32 scope with ir. I almost bought it from him, but I found the sight picture was hard to find at higher magnifications. Also the image got pretty grey (it was really dark and grey that day). However it did hold zero very nicely. I'd really like to have that magnification, but gave up and bought a lower magnification higher quality scope. I found the better the optics the less magnification I really needed, until you get out to longer ranges anyhow. Right now almost all my shooting is at 100 yards.

They are sold on Amazon.ca and have free shipping in Canada. Not sure of the quality, but from what I read of peoples reviews of scopes I think it really has more to do with your expectations. They are a cheap scope and so are the Fitco Scopes and I put one of their Deer Hunters in 4-12x40 on my .22 and its great. Sure its not as good as my weaver but for the price.. why not, just don't go put them on a 300 WM.

You can get better for just a few bucks more. Readfiels are a good in there price range. I have a friend that had one one his Mosberg Night train. When he started to shoot out farther he had trouble seeing the holes, 200y. He changed it out for Vortex.

Not where I'd put my money......I just find it hard to believe that a trustworthy optics co. Builds cabinets, safes, key chains.
Do one thing well you know.....
I'd put them in the same lump as NCstar. Acceptable quality at delivery time that quickly degrades to a nightmare of a scope that is backed by a warranty of SFA.

Not worth the fuel you will spend to get to the store to purchase, I made the mistake of trying one Bad news! on low power I could see through the scope on High power it went completely blurry I could not wait to get it the F###x of the gun. But this is just me opinion fwiw.

I have always been told; to properly scope a gun, plan on spending the same ammount of $ on the optics as the rifle.
There are no short cuts.

That being said I have a 4x 40 rubberised made in Japan tasco that was replaced with a Bushnel 3-9x40 mil-dot.
If you want to make the same mistake as I did by not listening to the advice I was given.....I can set you up with that scope I first bought. ;)

Just in case the above posts weren't enough, I bought a Barska spotting scope when I didn't know any better. It is absolute crap. Crappy blurry clarity when set at 20x, and when set @ 21X or higher, it is completely useless.

My thoughts on Barska now are, "Don't buy a Barska, don't let a friend buy Barska."

Well I guess i have to the be the black sheep. They are not Night force scopes there is no question there. But I have bought 2 so far 1 tactical 6-22x44 for my rem 700 and 1x4 for my AR. And so far they have never failed. My 6-22 works great out to 200m no problem it has never lost zero, and i find the view clear. As for my 1x4 at the price i paid 70$ i love it. i shot a match in florida this year and cleaned the clocks of guys running aimpoints, eotech's, bushnells, even a couple of guys running night forces. We shot one stage running targets form 100m to 200m to 300m and back no problems. We also shot stages running 2 to 50 meters and no problems. Couple of guys asked me what I was running and they were shocked.

So my advise if you are not sure what you want to run for the price you can't go wrong. I didn't know if i wanted to run red dot, hol sight, scope. So i started with a cheap Barska, and I am going to run it this year at vermont 3 gun matches. If i decide to say with a scope on my AR then i will save up for a better one

I had the 8-32x50 varmint on my .223. The only complaint I had was the scope looked "milky" past 24 power. Other than that, I had no complaints. I got rid of it a few years ago with the gun. So far, the new owner is still using it and he's not complaining either. I now run Vortex almost exclusively on my rifles. Definitely worth the money there.
