Base, rings and scope for 7600

Hello all,


I'm looking to replace (grudgingly) the peep on my 7600 with a low powered scope. I'm thinking the scope will likely be a leupold 1.5-5. I'm wondering I anyone could suggest a good set of rings and base(s) to go with it. It's an older 7600 with no cheek piece so I'd like to keep the scope as low as possible.

I fully recommend a one pc Weaver base and the lowest lightweight rings you can find. No need for a heavy, all steel, expensive set up. This one will work fine.

You're scope choice is perfect!

I wanted a similar set-up on my 7600 Whelen ... I went with a Leupold VX-II in 1-4, with Leupold Super-Low QR rings & bases.
(The open sights remain)

Previously had a Weaver V-3 ( 1x-3x) on it with a Weaver swing mount. Swapped that over to another 7600.

Both do the job well & I see no problems with SuperCub's set-up either.

I had a Leupold 1 piece mount with super low rings with a Vari-x II 1 x 4. It was pretty sweet.

I had used a Millet one piece weaver base and low Burris Steel Signature Rings, around $40 all in.

Same set up as supercub, mine as a Leupold Fixed 4x.
