base's and rings?

Warnes are powder coat which is not necessarily the best coating.

Aside from the mechanical properties of the material, you would need a drawing and or accurate measuring tools. In the end, how much do you want to spend on a base?? With the quality of product out there, I would but my money towards optics...

BTW we stock Warne, Farrell and TPS....did I mentioned that already?

I'd say that you should talk to Ken Farrell and tell him what rig you've got and what you're trying to do. My guess is that he'll recommend his +20 MOA base and I would agree wholeheartedly. That's what is on my Savage LE2B. And while you're at it you should get the matched set of rings and bases from Ken. They're worth the extra price. Ken is a top notch guy to deal with. I know that you can get them from He Whose Name Shall Not Be Spoken as well.

Yeah I have been looking over his mounts and rings, but when I saw them on a rifle they looked so damn high (on troy from alberta tactical rifle), and the near mfg look nice and low by machining the ejection port into the base rather than rising it. Does anyone have a picture of a near mfg close up with say tps tsr rings? Can I squeeze by with medium or low rings for my mark 4 4.5-14 50mm? And ### I am confuzed as to your listing of TPS's prices. I wana purchase TPS TSR 30mm rings in 416 stainless steel. I am guessing they are 30mm TSR Scope Rings - Stainless steel, or 30mm "w" (weaver etc) scope rings stainless steel. I am gona bust the bank book and go for near mfg which is mil spec 1913..... you know what fits what, and hopefully can recommend a heigh ring that will clear. If not when I get the base I will machine some blocks of given height from tps's site and see what works and then get them off of you. I am in Port Coquitlam, B.C. so shipping should only be a few coins. (by any means over pack instead of under!)

Thanks a million for all your help!
(I will post picatures when I get it back from the gunsmiths and everything mounted)

Mouse, I have a B&L 4000 on my HB 700 in 308 (the same scope as yours before Bushnell changed the name, I have a couple of them actually). The fellows are right about taper required for the mounts to get out to long distance. I used Burris rings and inserts and Leupold one pice base. This lets me set the taper at 15 thou, which is about perfect for that scope and caliber combo. Fairly inexpensive as well. FWIW - dan

And is there on the board from or that knows about PGW DEFENCE TECHNOLOGIES INC. I tried to contact them using the two email address's give on their site (which is by the way all the contcat info they have) and they both dont work. I get failure of dilivery status...

Thanks guys
