Agreed. A shooting bud and myself have had good performance from ours. We've run them in tandem a few times, just to double check them against each other, and the readings have always been within a few feet of each other.

Yes, with their indoor light source can do arrows and anything faster indoors and out. Computer link very useful.
Not at the ranges mercy when you want to reset for a different string.

What is a good option for a basic, reasonable priced chronograph? At this point, I just need it for IPSC handgun loads to verify power factors.

I've been utilizing the Chrony F-1 for years, and it never let me down. It's their basic model and does all what I require.............calculates bullet velocity.
 
I got the cheap caldwell. Works ok for your needs.

Yep, works fine. Comes with a wired connection that plugs into your smartphone that records the readings with downloaded app.
