Basic Rifle Course by SMC consulting.

Hope it goes well.

Let's get behind this guys. Training like this is rare in these parts and we need this kind of thing for Civies and those in LE and MIL.

Sooooooooo much easier than going south all the time.

Those who signed up should be in for a great time.

Well, for whoever is teaching..is their going to be anything "new" in basic tactics? Or is it going to be high round consumption refresher for new cops and vets?

Shooting's not some dark art. There won't be any incredible secrets revealed.

Course content is listed in the advert on post #1. Judging by the experience level of those signed up we'll likely be advancing past that.

KevinB, hi.

Can you tell me what you guys are going to be doing so I can practice it on my own with my new friends?

Uhm

Can you tell the rest of us, why you should get all that information for free, while those of us who are on the course, have to pay for it? And further to that, why should you benefit from Big Red's experience and knowledge at no cost to yourself? He didn't gain his experience and knowledge for free. I know, I was there for some of it.

Just curious where your entitlement comes from.

Exactly!!!

A few days ago I had to restrain myself for saying something stupid to this guy but you beat me to it...Glad I wasn't the only one thinking like this :)

Well I was just curious, but I suppose there's not more then about 4 places it could be, but I should have known it would have been secret info only to be obtained through email

I figured you would have been more straight forward about your qualifications and prior courses considering your rauch tactical website is an off the shelf flash template with hardly any info on it, and contains no mention of SMC consulting. Nor does a google search turn up anything relevant about either company.

I'm sure you will have a lot of success with the course regardless, considering the price is nice and low.

I may consider if you offer an advanced course someday.

Good luck!

Be nice guys :D.

Honestly though there is a reason this isn't free, its knowledge and experience hard gained by an instructor who had put up more then the average joe and has done more then the average grunt to get it. This is trg on a professional level and anyone who thinks they know all there is to know has a lot to learn.

If you want to come out have a good time and come away with a lot of new and useful info then come out. If you want to sit in front of your comp talking about how cool you look in the mirror cause you read everything there is on the internet then by all means don't come :D.

All that said at last check there were a couple slots open, so if anyone wants to come out they should jump now.

If you're mil/LE PM me and I'll send you all the details you want.

Flashy websites don't equal great training. This is the first course from SMC, hence no results. I'm certain that several board members that are attending will be posting AARs with their opinion of the course.

Thanks for the well wishes.

Reference an open Advanced course, if/when offered it will only be open to those who have previously completed formal training in the topic covered.

Good Shooters don't have any magic art - they just mastered the basics and can do it under stress.

FYI John is a friend of LAV's

The advantage you have in a trainer that has been around the block, is he/she can look at your shooting, and explain the how's and why's of it work under poor conditions - like your vehicle just hit by an IED or 7.62 PKM fire ;)

And explain why your gear may not be ideal for a gunfight etc.

SMC - Shoot, Move, Communicate is something John and I came up with. The point it shooting, moving and communicating are all basic skills, however being able to intergate them all, and do it under stress is what makes shooters great teammates.

Any new Aimpoint stuff you guys attending are interested in seeing in person?

Let me know ASAP and I'll do my best to bring it out for you to try on the course.
