Basix or timney trigger ?

Wonksy is right. Cabelas wont ship you a trigger from the States. You cant even buy a scope off of them. Its not Cabelas fault. Its the US State Dept. They wont let big companies ship to Canada. They became very anal after 911. No reloading components either. Sorry to burst your bubble.

Rifle basix shipped a trigger direct last year for my stevens. I know they ship directly to Canada and it cost 100 shipped for the trigger I ordered. Not hard to install just checked youtube. Not a bad trigger.

yah 45 replaces the sear only not the entire trigger...
i have adjusted mine and its better than it was but im still not sure on how much i can adjust the sear engagement screw before its considered "unsafe" and no one wants to help or give me details on how to perform the proper adjustments on it so thats why i was thinking on replacing it but maybe im just wasting my money and what i have is good enough as long as the proper adjustments are made.
well see i guess.

Try this one for your sear:

so i played around with my trigger last night and the best i can adjust it to so its safe is just shy of 4 lbs.
its not too bad.....any lighter on the sear engagement and the firing pin drops when you release the safety ,after depressing hard on the trigger in the safe mode.
at 4lbs everything seems fine hard cycling of the bolt is ok and the safety works fine.
im going to try it next weekend at the range and see how it feels.

I'd try some slam fires. If it's not scoped or you can remove the scope, #### it and tap the butt end of the rifle rather roughly on the floor.
All of the above with the rifle unloaded of course. :D

If 4 lbs is as low as she'll go, you may have to go aftermarket.

I am going to order a rifle basix for my Stevens. It seems you have to put screws in and do the adjustments? Is the Timney drop in the same?

Basix sends detailed instructions so if you get stumped just phone them and they'll walk you through.................nice triggers BTW...........Harold
