Bass Fishing In BC

you sure they are small mouth? when we catch smaller bass in bc we check the differences on the ole googler.....eye position to corner of mouth etc. they show you.....the've all been large mouth bass....just small ones a lot of the time, never saw a smallie come out of vaseaux but they could be there, never heard of smallies from baynes either, just big large but I could be wrong if both are present

Pretty awful bass fishing in my area this year, spent atleast 30 hours on the lake so far and have pulled 6 keepers out. I'm gonna spend a few hours outback finding some frogs before my next outing and hope it ups my odds.

Fishing Baynes Lake website states rainbow, perch and large mouth. Wouldn’t mind making a trip there!

I explored Baynes Lake while I was there. The lake was down about 3 feet, from years of drought. Overall it appeared shallow and the water was quite warm. I saw bass swimming, however left them alone.

I can assure you Vaseux Lake has Smallmouth. Me and the kids were into them last week. We were catching them near the homes on Vaseux Lake Crescent, tossing zoom flukes from the canoe towards shore/docks.

pics please, just zoom in on the mouth eye relationship and look up the difference, that doesn't sound like small mouth locations you're targeting either...that doc fishing stuff is largemouth fishing, there's trout in vaseaux also so could be other species but I've only seen largemouths that way, I fished very close to that spot for many years and even fished vaseaux a couple times

As I was fishing from a canoe I don't have any good pics, but I know the difference between a smallmouth and a largemouth. These fish were brown not green, and lacked the horizontal dark line of a largemouth.

Well if smallies are in vaseaux I missed out on a new species dang it lol, I would have put a bit more time on it to add that one to the paddle board list which is at 9 species now. Those Wasa Lake pics are definitely large mouths and nice ones. When we first started catching smaller fish out that way we had to google because we thought smallmouths initially. All we ever got though have been large mouths.

We’re going to go in early September. What is the bass fishing going to be like at that time of the year?
depends on the weather the colder it the slower the fishing. but i think you would be fine till late September.
