39.99 for boxes of winchester super x 303 British !!
Not surprisingly the shelf was full.

Lebarons has it for 19.99 and walmart 25.99.
I know bass pro is a joke to the shooting community, but that is just a ridiculous mark up.

Just thought I would share a laugh with you this morning.

Cheers

I also noticed the big price jump at my local gun store. Soft points used to be about $21.99-$23.99 but they went way up to $28.99-$29.99!!! Some places still have it for the lower price, but I wonder if that is old stock and they will have to mark it up as well when they get more from their distributors.

Could also be the accordian effect from the US and we are just getting into the stuff they had to deal with, but months later.

Guess it's a good thing there are no Basspro stores around here then..

I do buy @ Basspro online when shipping is free and they have what I need...

We need more local competion

I very quickly learned that the best way to pull the trigger on my .303brits is to reload for them. I see the cost for a 20 round box of factory ammo and shake my head. This is one of those calibers where the ROI on reloading components for it is a straight line that doesn't go too far.

Hey targetacquired;

I total agree with you. I started reloading 303 and never looked.
I only use the lee Loader kit, so i have to fire the round and then reload it.
I'm at a stand still, waiting for the lee 303 trim piece to come off back order. (the drill method)

Hey 577-450;

I get my imr 3031 for 32 a pound from the local shop.

Cheers

Bass Pro carries some nice lines of clothing for guys (which seems to be difficult to find for us larger fellas at times), but their hunting and shooting sections totally stink. That ammo is priced a double the price it really should be.

They may be a joke, but, I bought a Hornady L-N-L AP from them for $450, with free shipping, and only the oversize shipping charge of $14, plus a couple shell plates.

Certainly blows away a lot of the local/online pricing for the same press up here.

~$600 all in for the press and 2 shell plates, including taxes and brokerage.

Canadapost gave me some issues, but, otherwise, I'm pretty happy.

I also bought sights and a rest for my bow. Again, free shipping, and saved $20 on the sight compared to canadain online/store pricing.....

You guys do know about their free shipping to Canada now for orders over $75 right? You get the benefit of paying their US list prices (so, you do get hit a bit in the exchange, but, usually that works out to your advantage still price wise.)

Try up grading to a lee press and a set of lee collet dies. I did and it paid it self off in a few months just in times savings alone.

we were in bed bath and beyond and found an angry bird trash can for $19.99 my kid just had to have. later in the day we found the same trash can at a dollar store for $3 flat. the same trash can, could not believe it, can you guys believe that??

why is it retailers cannot all charge the same, and save me the hassle from having to shop around???? the audacity... the arrogance.....

I am just glad that we have a forum where we can vent our legitimate beefs about price variations from retailer to retailer in a non-communist country.....

I just picked up some .303 the other day. the one shop in town told me they didn't have any, hadn't had any for 4 months, couldn't get more and that the smart guys had bought it up while there was supply. the other shop was too busy, i wasn't about to stand around for 30 minutes waiting for tire kickers to finish up when all i needed was a couple boxes of ammo. Wholesale had full shelves. Winchester Super X was $23.99. I bought 3 boxes.

As a side note, that first shop that had no .303 did have 7mm Rem Mag, Federal Fusion for $42.99. Wholesale had the same stuff for $35.99. I know which shop I'm avoiding...
