Just back from Bass Pro Vaughan and the have some .22lr in stock.

Winchester 222 round packs ($13.99), CCI Standard Velocity (I think around $4.99/50), Federal Auto Match 325 round packs ($21.99) Remington Viper ($9.99/100).

They had tons of the CCI and Federal Auto Match but the limit of four 50 round packs OR one bulk pack remains in place.

Had an interesting chat with one of the guys there as to the reason for the rationing.

1) Several weeks ago he had 2 skids of CCI he was about to put in the rimfire ammo case. None of it made it into the case. Four guys bought it all.

2) People from the nearby Sail were coming in, buyig up all Bass Pro's .22lr and selling it at Sail for in some cases a 300% mark up. The CCI BP was selling for $5.00 Sail bought it all and was selling it for $15.

I have no doubt #1 is true. #2 could be to, or he could have just been trying to steer people away from Sail.

I used to work there. I call this absolute BS. Proof please..names?

Sounds like more ignorant-gun-counter-know-it-all telling stories he pulled out of his a** again. Basspro is famous for those.

One of the ones I was told while shopping at the Vaughn store while visiting family in the GTA was that solid copper bullets like Barnes TSX and Hornady GMX are illegal for hunting in all of Canada. Guy was super cocky about it too.
Loads of other far fetched and ridiculous stories here on CGN people have reported being told at a Bass Pro store.

Well that's too bad,one bulk box at a time.I was planning on making a 4 hour trip to Vaughan and pick up at least 4 boxes of Auto-Match.Not worth my while for 1 box.f:P:2:

I was told that if I wanted .22 shorts I would need to find a old hardware store in some small town.

They told me the same basspro-sail story when I was in the vaughn store last week. He was saying thats why they put limits on their .22 amunition

# 2 Sounds like artistic license..

They have 500 rnd. bricks of Viper at Ark Army for $59.99 ... so the 100 pack at BP is priced better. Some store in Hamilton has Federal for $29.99. I forget the name.. not the best deals..but not the worst if it's your only option.
