Bat Action

I know that at one time Rick at Alberta Tactical was able to get them, check with him. If not, they are not impossible to import. The application from the Canadian end is not very complicated. What I don't know is if BAT is being nailed with the sodomizing export license fees that barrel makers are being charged/charging.

I think everyone is subject to the viscious rogering doled out by the State Department. It's all a question of whether or not the retailer wants to grab their ankles and cough.

They are!!
You are correct we WERE importing them. Last I spoke with Bruce, he was not prepared to pony up the outlandish fees to become DDTC registered, so to the best of my knowledge BAT is not exportable.
This may have changed since I spoke with him last, the only way to be certain would be to place a call.
Many US makers are finding that the fees out strip the revenue generated from export sales.
I find it sad and hard to understand that in a country that is in a depression, as the US is, their government would be making it harder to conduct business rather than making it easier in an attempt to keep folks working.

I see you're in southern Ontario.
Me too.
I've imported through Buffalo Gun Center.
If you really want a Bat,call up Brunos
in the States and have them ship it to Buffalo Gun Center.
They usually have stock of some of the various Bat actions.
You do the Canadian paperwork,Buffalo gun Center does the
American paperwork.
Voila,Bat action for you.

EXCEPT for the fact that only firearms parts being exported through legal means can only be exported if the manufacturer is DDTC registered, so regardless of whether Bruno's has a BAT action, if BAT is still not DDTC registered, you won't get an export permit.
God I love all the experts here..........................

I've never considered myself an expert.
I only speak from my experiences and what I witness happening around me.
I have a friend, who a few months ago imported a Bat action through
Buffalo Gun Centre.
I think he's brought in a total of three Bat's this year.
I've seen them import Stillers and other benchrest actions also for people I shoot with.
I've imported Cooper rifles from them without a hitch.
After you appointed me a so called expert,I thought I should double check
what I have been witnessing with some information straight from the horses mouth.
I spoke to Buffalo Gun Centre yesterday about importing a Bat Action.
Yes we can,was their reply.
I spoke to Darrel at Bat Actions today.
From what I understood from the conversation,it is true that Bat cannot ship
me an action directly to Canada.
But they would gladly ship me an action to my U.S. FFL/Exporter and they could then arrange export for me.
Neither Bat,nor BGC saw DDTC registration as an issue.
Buffalo Gun Centre is an FFL and an exporter.
Anyone who has dealt with Buffalo Gun Centre knows the drill.
Buffalo Gun Centre cannot mail you the action or rifle or revolver or stock
or whatever.
When Canadian and U.S. paperwork has all cleared, you meet at Buffalo Gun Centre, they bring action to Border, you present paperwork, pay GST and PST,
and take your action or whatever home.
What I presented to the initial query by the gentleman who wanted a Bat action still seems viable.
If he has his heart set on a Bat action, he can contact Buffalo Gun Centre and get the facts for himself.
I have no hesitation in recommending Buffalo
Gun Centre. They are straight up,professional people who do what
they say they will do.
I recommended Bruno's because they do stock some models.
Buffalo Gun Centre can set up the purchase through Brunos's.
If you want something specific from Bat,you may have have a wait.
