GOT MY MAGAZINE TOADAY and was suprised that that his name came up in this artical about the bc bears .I have enjoyed this work at home with mom and dad till know that i am marred and have my own kids ,i have 18 prints and a great book of hiw work in progress from skec hes and drawings to paint .great detail is what getts most of his art followers love .i did not know this side of him .or know of him specking out about hunting and the other outdoor life styels we enjoy .will have to look in to this more . it just got me thinking DUTCH
 
He's a proponent of the end the grizzly hunt in BC. He might be able to draw them but sure knows ####e about them.

He's a superb artist...that I know. I have several books containing prints of his work.

I read an article about his diet (health magazine) and apparently, Bateman loves salmon, pointing out that it's wild and that is why he prefers it. Anyone who promotes eating wild food meats like salmon can't be totally against hunting, can they?
 
Bateman is not an " anti ", but is certainly a conservationist (habitat concerned).

He has done a number of works in support of Wildlife Habitat Canada
and Ducks Unlimited.

Well he lives in a good area then...He's on SaltSpring Island.
My nephews went to school with his kids there. ;)
