I'm loving the short throw safety on my SR-25 thus far.
 
Just want to say i put one of the short throw safeties on my lower and they rock. Safety on and off is so much smoother.

What kind of modification is needed to install the short throw lever in a standard 90 degree Fire/Saftey marked lower receiver?

Your website says the 45 degree Short Throw Levers are out of stock. Are they back in stock??
 
a small file is all you need or a dremel.

i got mine at target sports, i also got the 90 degree but the 45 is so much better.

I was looking at these earlier. Good to know I can get them up here.

Crud, does this mean Brownells won't ship up the ambi magazine release too? Grrr!
 
i put orders into brownells and they wont ship the BAD-ASS ambi up here. they also don't have the 45 degree (short throw) ambi's.

Target Sports still have 2 available.

no regular (standard) on the shelf, only the 45 degree short throw instock.

they are on the first shelve under the NEA flash hiders / comps.

Just talked to Target Sports on the phone. Sounded like an asian fellow. He wasn't sure what I was talking about at first and after he went to check he said they have none in stock. When did you see them on the shelf Musky? Or do you know someone there that might have a better idea? Much appreciated!

WTF...there was 2 on the shelf when i left yesterday.

The sales guy might have missed them. There right besides the maglula mag loaders.
 
Called back and talked to the retail manager. He straightened me out and will be shipping me out a Short Throw kit.

For any others who are interested, they have one kit left in stock.

I don't see the logic behind the short throw lever. Flipping a standard AR selector from safe to repetition takes less time than making a decision to shoot, raising the weapon up and acquiring a sight picture.

My short stubby thumbs actually can't flip the safety from fire to safe, I don't have the leverage. It's not even just a matter of slightly adjusting my grip, I have to pretty much turn my entire hand on the grip to be able to move it, since you first have to pull the lever back towards you, then push it up.

I'm hoping with the short throw, since when it's on fire it won't be perpendicular to my firing hand, I'll actually be able to push it up from the firing position. If the short throw won't allow me to do that, then I'll just learn to use my index finger on the ambi safety.
