Which rifle would you prefer to own?

Yeah, I like my 180B's. All 4 of them. Picked them each up for waaaaay less than what I see them selling for now. 1 is restricted, the other 3 are non-res. Great little rifle. Hoping to get a couple of yotes with my scoped one this winter. Never had any problems with mine, although I can see why the polymer lower and the known fragility can be problematic for some. Still...I'm a huge fan of the original AR-18/180 rifles (ugly as they are to some, I think they're absolutely beautiful) and not being in the elusive 12.5 class this is as close as I'll get in this country to owning one.

Two AR180bs and an SU16 here.

Why do people compare them to AR15s and want to turn them into AR15s? This is the first mistake.
Compare them at original prices and not on the price of something that is out of production. Second mistake. MR1 is priced how high again?

On their own merits they are both light ergonomic and reliable.

As for the MR1, well if I wanted a drilling shotgun in .223, then I might consider it.

I totally agree with Gnome's opinion. They are not AR-15's, nor should anyone pretend they are AR-15's. They have a few things in common with AR-15's, but they are a different rifle. That being said, I own an AR-15 and an M4 and I love shooting them too. Personally, other than mounting optics on one, I've left them exactly as they came from the factory.

I like my SU16 stock as it came too.

In or close to this category I also have a T97, and a CSA58 in .223 too.
I can't wait for the MPAR either.
Variety is a good thing.:)

I don't understand why some folks think that the MR1 being ugly is a bad thing. Truth be told, all black, red and green rifles are ugly and they are supposed to be. I think the uglier they are, the better they probably work, ie: ak's, etc.

My vote goes for the 180, I have had an interest in these lately and can see myself purchasing one in the early new year.

I wasn't aware of that. If the OP were to get one, I would recommend getting all of the parts he/she can get their hands on. Unfortunately these rifles are still WAAAAAY overpriced, even if they were brand new.

Other than maybe getting a spare firing pin I really don't see any reason to stock up on parts. They are extremely reliable and simple rifles with a great design.
They are "overpriced" because anyone that is familiar with them knows it's a solid rifle with a proven history and now that they are not in production the price is rising as they get harder and harder to find in good shape.
I am not a fan of trying to tacticool them with quadrails and AR stock adapters, I think they were done right at the factory and other than buying the optics rail they don't need anything.

Isn't the firing pin the same as a AR15's?
I know most of the fire control group is AR15.

Held a Keltec this past weekend. I had a hard time believing it was a real gun. Felt like junk. AR180 is a great idea, but cheaply made and overpriced. Dealers tried to screw us because we just wanted something close to an AR and non restricted. The MR1 has goofy ergos, but very quality built. Ugly as anything out there, but sometimes an ugly gun is kinda cool.
