Well, I went to a gun show yesterday with $100 to blow and spent it.

Came home with a set of new high Weaver scope rings I was looking for, two boxes of 30-30 ammo and a used pair of 8x40 B&L Legacy binoculars.

What is your experience with these binos? I know they're not high-end, but seem similar to what I'm used to.

I was preparing myself to spend in the $200 range or more for some Nikon or Pentax binoculars, but when I saw these for $65 I thought I'd grab 'em. They're in used but good condition.

It's a decision I'll have to live with I suppose, what do you think?

They're clear, do the job and are not too heavy, so they seem to be what I was looking for after I dropped and knocked my 25-year-old Bushnells out of whack last year.

b&l is the "higher" end of bushnell- i've got a pair of 8x40 from the 70's and they're as good as any of the others- these are west german made, whoile not exactly todays version of compact, they are somewhat better and more compact than the 7x50- at least they don't have the long tubes of the 7x-
i think 65 was a fair price to pay- one of the companies i used to work for made theodlites and b&l did make lenses for those at one time- i'm not sure whether or not the lenses are still made in germany/switzerland or japan now, but it's been my experience that it really makes little difference

I used the B&L legacy 8X40 for quite some time.
Great glass for the cash.I think I paid $159.99 from London Drugs in the early 90s.I sold them to a co-worker for $50 last year. They offered quality for the $ in a bino, not a Leupy Wind River but not $250 either.RB
