I posted this first on the edged weapons forum but I thought some of the people here might be more interested in Milsurp bayonets.
I went on a bit of a spending spree starting with a nice SMLE 1907 sword bayonet and a Indian SMLE bayonet that is a bit shorter than the 1907 and very poorly put together.
This kicked off a frenzy of bayonet buying where I bought a rough Ross which I had really wanted and with the Ross I got a beautiful Chilean mauser bayonet for 10$.
The Chilean mauser bayo is a very well made and beautiful blade. It really is my fave of all the bayonets so far.
I then bought another 1907 which seems to be Australian as the scabbard has strange leather or pseudo leather sheath with the word "Mangrovite 42" on it.
I would love any info on this. Was the 1907 scabbard made in 1942.
I also bought another Ross in even rougher shape and a Long Lee double edged bayonet that have not got here yet. I am really excited about the Long Lee.
I got all these bayonets here off the exchange. Living in northern sask I would never had a opportunity to get these without the net and the exchange.
The only problem is now I want a Ross M10 and a Long Lee rifle to match
I have had a hard time posting pics but I can link to a photo of the
top 1907 SMLE
second Indian SMLE
third Chilean mauser
fourth Ross
