bayonet for mk 5

Be looking at spending a couple hundred to get one if you are lucky enough to find one. Not many were released as surplus because they were used on other arms in the British and Commonwealth arsenal.

There were at least two different bayonets for the No.4 that I can recall but as far as I know only one for the No.5. The originals are rarely for sale and command a high price. Replicas were made in India and/or Pakistan and they aren't quite common, but they are cheaper. They are also liable to not attach properly without some hand-fitting.

Know a guy that just paid 200.00 for one and told him he got a good deal. Last one I knew of sold for 300.00.

They are around though, they can turn up in the strangest places...

"...at least two different bayonets for the No. 4..." Try 7.
"...bayonet for Mk. 5 lee..." Same bayonet as the one used on a Sterling SMG. Collector's Source wants $395 for one. English made.

I can think of three for the No.4. Cruciform spike, MkII spike, and No9 blade. Two that were meant for the No.5, No5 with one grip screw and No5 with two grip screws, then the No7 which also fits if I remember right but don't think it was ever to be officially used?

Picked one up at the Merritton gunshow in St. Catherine's several weeks back.
Paid $180. Felt like a steal.
Moral of the story is that they are out there. Just have to keep your eyes open.
I almost missed out on this one as another guy had it in his hands. The second he put it down I scooped it up because I knew it wouldn't last.
