What is the correct bayonet for the SVT-40, can anyone post a pic because I really want one and need to know what to look for. Also I heard that later in the war the were modified to accept socket bayonets, Is this true? P.s. Mine was made in 1941 @ the Tula Arsenal don't know if this changes anything. Merci Beaucoup en Avance

That would be because the rifle (for the most part) wasn't issued with a bayonet.

So theres a lot more rifles than bayonets in circulation, especially in Canada.
If you really want one, you're going to pay for it. Bayonets are more expensive than you think.

Good grief!! Those things are expensive. It seems most things to do with the SVT-40 are expensive( scope mounts especially). I will keep mt eyes open for someone who thinks it's just another steretypical bayonet and buy one then. Gun Shows are My best friend.

I think thanks to the internet those days are over. Now anyone can research something before they sell it. The good thing is you can find almost anything the bad is you have to pay what it is worth.
