I've seen a bolton aftermarket bayonet mount to mount M16 bayo's on Remy 870's.

Anyone no where I can find them or buy em?
Pics??

Thanks

PS Yes the Zombie shotgun thing has become an obsession!LOL
Shotguns are really bayonet removal devices!

Anything i can mount a bayonet on tickles my fancy. Actually much like i wont buy a car/truck without a sunroof, i have an issue buying a rifle that wont mount a bayonet, other than my .22lr.

For a rem870 though? Youve sparked my interest at least somewhat.

More info required however.

Do a www.dogpile.com search of "Remington 870 bayonet mount" . I found some interesting info, the reason the Remington Mag extention sticks out a little past the end of the barrel and the reason the end is stepped down is it was for a M16 bayonet but the military thought the catch was not strong enough so they didn't accept it , there is a picture of a Marine 870 bayonet catch and it looks impressive.

why yes i'm making one:)
I seen it too seen how much they were going for on ebay:rolleyes: 170!!!! and i am really not crazy about bying anything from them
I just finished the bayonet stud itself
and i am shaping out the rest of it from 18 gauge stainless steel when i'm finished .....though it will be a while (a few months as its not high on my priorities) or i just get P O ed with it, its not hard though

That bayonet will come in handy on a Pheasant hunt you can shoot em then slice em and dice em.

Bear defence thread in 3...2...1 :p

Funny this topic comes up as I was wondering about bayonet lugs for the 870 also.

Also GEO I tried to get a heat shield for my NP9, but it was almost as long as the barrel (covered the bead), and there was no space on the magazine tube for the mounts. :D

Shame as it would have looked mean.

like i said i have one in" production "right now but there is no way I could mass produce anything, you would need some sheet meet working stuff the stud however was pretty easy metal stock comes in the basic size

I am wondering if the Winchester 1897 shroud and bayo mount would work. . . Oh darn it would not take a M-7 bayonet,:( but it would take one of those cutlass-like 1917 bayonets.:D

You say that like it's a bad thing :).

Reminds me of a discussion I had with a moderatelly anti friend about the SKS. I told him that bayonets have a perfectly legitimate sporting application; finishing wounded game.

the hardest part is the stud itself which isn't that hard
even 80 US with shipping it too much i think

That was designed and patented by the research labs at Dahlgren by the US Army.

Choate made a lug that was silver soldered or brazed to the barrel, that they haven't been available for at least 20 years.

We should all get together and convince BBB to start working on that...
allready been working on it for the last month.
Ive got a prototype for a bayo lug mag clamp and m1913 rail on the side.
its really really cool.
Just working on makeing it ambi so you can flip it arount to have the m1913 rail on the left or right hand side.
it will be cnc milled from steel and parkarised.
Dont want to post any pics of it yet as i,m sure it will change befor its ready to put into production.
But for them of you that have for the 870 or fabarms sling mounts off me you know how well i like to make stuff:rockOn:
